The Eastgate Clock after school club, nestled in the historic city of Chester within Cheshire West And Chester, offers a uniquely engaging programme for children. While some might initially perceive our inspirations from Chester's iconic landmarks as purely touristic, our club transforms these rich historical elements into dynamic educational experiences. Named after the city's most photographed landmark, the Eastgate Clock, our club uses the very fabric of Chester as its classroom, moving beyond traditional settings.

Children embarking on this adventure will delve into the fascinating history of Chester's Roman Walls, the longest and most complete circuit in Britain, learning about their construction and significance through interactive explorations. Our guided activities encourage youngsters to navigate the unique Chester Rows, discovering the secrets of their half-timbered galleries and imagining life in 13th-century Chester, complete with engaging scavenger hunts. Beyond the city's architecture, the club explores the River Dee, enjoying supervised strolls along the Groves promenade and learning about the river's ecological importance and history, perhaps even enjoying supervised boat trips when weather permits.
